Here’s a truly delicious and wellness boosting beverage that is sure to satisfy your taste buds!
Our favorite Ayurvedic golden milk latte recipe starts with a synergistic combination of spices:
-
ground turmeric, which gives the beverage its characteristic bright yellow hue,
-
real ground Ceylon Cinnamon (not the fake Vietnamese or Saigon 'cassia' type that’s high in the toxin, Coumarin!)
-
ground ginger
-
ground black pepper
TIP: You can buy the golden powder pre-made from many different brands, but be cautious of the type of cinnamon in the mix and always choose organic. Some brands also add vanilla and things like mushroom powder. It’s totally up to you and your flavor palate!
If you want to mix your own golden powder (which we recommend), use the following:
- 1.5 tsp ground turmeric
- 1/2 tsp ground ginger
- 1/2 tsp ground ceylon cinnamon
- A small pinch of black pepper (The black pepper contains an ingredient that helps to boost the bioavailability of the medicinal compounds found in turmeric).
As for the liquid component, you can use any milk of your choice. We prefer organic whole milk, but if you're plant-based, then choose a milk with more body like hemp or oat milk. Almond milk is too watery. You want it to be creamy and frothy! That’s part of what makes this beverage so delicious and the perfect thing for Fall!
MIXING INSTRUCTIONS:
* This recipe makes 2 - 8oz servings *
Mix the powder with 16 oz milk of your choice in a small sauce pan, and simmer until hot, stirring frequently. Once mixture is hot, add 1 tbsp honey (or Agave nectar or real maple syrup) and desired amount of our BOOST or BALANCE tincture and whisk aggressively or put in mixer to blend until frothy. You can also use a hand-held milk frother. If the mixture is too strong for you, add more milk to dilute!
THE BENEFITS
This recipe combines multiple body balancing spices renowned in Ayurvedic medicine for their healing properties: cinnamon bark, turmeric, ginger, and black pepper. These spices possess powerful anti-oxidants and inflammation reducing compounds. They’re also amazing for balancing gut health and promoting healthy digestion. Now when combined with whole plant CBD oil, we take the healing properties of these spices to a
whole new level. Synergy is one of the fundamental principals in Ayurvedic medicine. Synergy is the interaction of two or more substances to produce a combined effect greater than the sum of their separate effects. So, it’s like 1 + 1 = 4.
